How The Scoop Works
We begin with a free assessment to see exactly where your child shines and where support is needed. Based on those results, personalized tutoring sessions are created using structured Science of Reading instruction designed for K-2 learners. Throughout the process, families receive clear progress updates and easy-to-understand reports that track growth, celebrate milestones, and help everyone stay involved in the child’s reading development with confidence and encouragement.

The Literacy Scoop grew out of more than 20 years in education and 16 years as a certified classroom teacher, many of those spent in kindergarten and first grade helping children take their first real steps into reading. Our work blends Science of Reading practices with a gentle, ice cream-themed structure that turns hard work into something children look forward to. Families are never on the sidelines, they receive clear communication, progress updates, and simple ways to support reading at home.
